The film The Croods: A New Age (2020), which leads the way to the highest path of entertainment by moving from the prehistoric era to a new civilization through the art of animation, was released in November 2020.
This film, which gained high audience attraction just like the first The Croods film, was directed by Joel
Crawford. As in the first film, the character portrayals of Nicolas Cage, Emma Stone, and Ryan Reynolds,
along with the new characters joining the second film through Peter Dinklage, Leslie Mann, and Kelly Marie
Tran, have provided maximum contribution to giving the production a successful finish.

The film begins by showing the Croods family and Guy traveling across the world together in search of a
safer place more suitable for living. During that journey, they encounter the Bettermans family, who live in
a modern, comfortable paradise surrounded by a large wall. They are a family advanced in technology and
civilization. The story unfolds regarding the conflicts that arise when the Croods family, accustomed to the
Stone Age, and the Bettermans, who live very cleanly and orderly in a modern mansion built on a tree, live
together, and the battle they wage against their common enemies, the Punch Monkeys.

Moving beyond the deep meanings and sensitivity found in the first The Croods (2013) film, this film can be
shown as a very simple and humorous creation. However, the goal of protecting one’s family and keeping
them together is shown in the second film just as in the first. Furthermore, the most focus through this film
has been placed on pointing out the differences between people living in two different social strata and
showing the crisis situation that arises when they live together. The cultural conflict between the Croods
family, who value traditional methods, and the Betterman family, who use modern methods, can be
compared to the conflicts that arise between two generations in today’s society. Therefore, this can be
described as a film that can add a formal example and interpretation to society, going beyond a film full of
entertainment and humor.

Moreover, by demonstrating the strength of women through “The Thunder Sisters” group, the importance
of acting without gender discrimination is well presented.

If discussing the humorous scenes here, it is such a magnificent creation that they can be talked about scene by scene. If there is a film that always adds a smile to the audience’s faces and keeps them always excited, the best example for it is The Croods: A New Age. The humor is further enhanced and demonstrated through the communication methods and actions of the Punch Monkeys.

Additionally, DreamWorks production has used a large range of colors to make this film vibrant.
Furthermore, the plants and animals they have used for the changing environment have succeeded in adding a beautiful sight to the surroundings. It shows that they have utilized this animation process well to show the audience scenes that are very pleasing to the eye through this film.

Taken as a whole, The Croods: A New Age is a film that provides a very high level of enjoyment to the
audience throughout 95 minutes. This film can be further described as one belonging to the Animation,
Comedy, and Adventure genres that the whole family can watch together.
