I recently watched Hush, and honestly, it surprised me. The story follows Maddie, a deaf writer living alone in a house in the woods. What starts as peaceful isolation quickly turns into a nightmare when a masked killer shows up at her door.
What I liked most was that the movie didn’t rely on cheap jump scares or excessive gore. The tension comes from the silence. There are moments when we hear danger approaching, but she doesn’t and that contrast makes everything feel more intense.
I also appreciated that Maddie isn’t portrayed as helpless. She thinks, adapts, and fights back in smart ways, which makes the story more believable.
Overall, it’s a simple but effective thriller that builds suspense without overcomplicating things.
